just that they don't appear to be overly inflated

There are examples of where their RRP's are more comparable to other suppliers and there are examples where their RRP's are far higher than other suppliers of similar products (similar as in number of shots, bore etc)

I guess some people will compare rrps between suppliers and some wont :)

David put well what I meant.

Some people wont care either way. I personally look at the product and its price regardless of RRP as no1 seems to go by them any more, and then if they are of good value I`ll buy them.

Even when comparing shots and bore, it's worth bearing in mind performance too. It's natural that if a product is 1.3G it's price might be higher, but it's performance better, than a cake of comparable bore/shot count etc.

An example- Epic 19 shot hexagons, they are at £25 RRP

Other 19 shot hexagons vary from about £15, to around £20, some are £25 too- but of a 1.4G prformance.

I'm not just mindlessly defending Epic here- if anyone can suggest items that are as good as Epics , at significantly lower RRP's (or actual selling price, however people want to compare), then I'm all ears.

OK, interest in fireworks to be resumed in the spring. It usually is. ;)

Epic have some great products, no doubt.

There are also products out there that are at least as good and have a much lower RRP.

I dont want this to get into a thread quoting prices back and forth, I have my opinion and you have yours :)

As Stu has already stated, and I totally agree Epic does have some excellent fireworks (which i wouldn't mind having myself!) at great prices, but some of them are a little adventurous.

I think a couple of you have the right idea, you buy something that you perseve as good value, but alot of people don't think like that.

Epic of course have the advantage of being able to supply large quantities of 1.3g stuff which some believe is better than 1.4g however in recent years the gap has closed in the differences between the two. Don't get me wrong there is some real crap 1.4g aswell as 1.3g

Going back to comparisons.

Gold Willow, 45 shots 30mm willow rrp £99.99 sale price £49.99

http://epicfireworks...products_id=360

AF49 Pulse, 49 shots 30mm brocade rrp £59.99

http://www.fireworks...pexd.asp?id=405

This is what people are getting at.
Regards.

So the choice is between:

A 1.4G fan barrage at £60 (available Oct/Nov)

OR

A 1.3G fan barrage at £50 (available 365 days a year)

And the question was what again?

Given the fact that everything you sell is "half price"... the question would be why your item has an rrp that is 67% MORE than a comparable piecefrom another supplier

Is the firework really comparable? The Gold Willows is 1.3G, the AF one mentioned is 1.4G - A big difference.

We supply retailers like Fireworks Crazy who like to sell fireworks at higher prices. They need to know RRPs for when they sell them. They can sell them at any price they like. So can we. We choose to sell them at a low price.

Brothers Pyrotechnics Krazy Klock for example. RRP £15.99 we sell for £7.95.

The RRP really does not come into effect when buying from us, we sell at a much lower price.

It is if you just look at the numbers, no so much a difference if you actually look at the two pieces performance, which is surely the more important issue :)

Regardless of what you or I may think or indeed the actual facts of the issue, perception is king and its the perception to the really important people that matter, the customers.

someone open the door to let this steam out :) really honestly though rrp should not effect people. if the firework does what its meant to do then you have your bargain.

Well, (in general terms, from any shop) , I'd say there are several things:

1. Outright rip offs. Stuff where the performance simply doesn't justify the asking price, and the item is being "sold" on over packaging, misleading artwork, etc etc. Avoid, full stop. No examples for legal reasons.

2. Good stuff, or very good stuff, but not cheap. A firework that performs well, with no silly over packaging, but at the asking price is of debatable value. Brothers Tivoli (at full RRP) for example.

3. Cheap and weak. Discounted brands that just perform poorly- a lot of supermarket items fit this category.

4. Cheap at half the price (to borrow a phrase). Stuff that is good value , and worth buying, when discounted from RRP. A lot of the Epic own brand stuff fits this, I'd say.

5. The real bargains. Stuff that performs well, and is decent enough value at the full RRP, and is being sold at a decent discount. Very hard to find these days. Past examples would include when Epic were doing the old Spec Tiger's Revenge for £50, or a brand such as Kimbolton at half price.

granted that, but in most cases shop owners over use the rrp prices so that why i dont take one bit of notice off it unless i obsess on the item and even then. i would like to add and i totaly agree with epic having good value items

no steam here, just an opinion :)

:) certainly everyone has them
