Click on events  -

MAY 2015

'There are no upcoming events to display at this time'.

Why no mention of the AGM?

Click on renew membership - still error as reported months ago.

Yes it is not the way to run a society web site, but they just don't have the time!

It doesn’t inspire confidence, but I am sure admin will come along and explain with the same old story.

Edit that, probably not

I pointed a prospective member to the UKPS web site.

It seems the events page has not been updated since last year.

It should take less than 15 minutes for the web designer to sort this.

Has whoever that is been informed?

I have told Richard and Bob about this. Richard did look into it as i was discussing it with him via FB message. He said he can't see a problem with it, this maybe because Richard would be logged in as admin which can i believe give more info/different views than others get.

I have no idea why the website isn't being updated, maybe an announcement about the AGM might be in order.

I don't maintain the website, I only host it. Bob has kindly volunteered to update the site in the past, but with the recent state of affairs, probably less inclined!

Steve - I have sent you login details for the site so you can maintain it, or appoint others / create additional accounts to do the same.

Broken link:

Renewal link here works fine: http://www.pyrosociety.org.uk/join/

The only broken link I've noticed is here, I have fixed it: http://www.pyrosocie...rship-renewals/

I'll put something in the Events section now. I was waiting for a more firm list of times, but it is not forthcoming.

Other staff have access to edit the site too, it doesn't often require Richard or myself.

I don't monitor the forum with any frequency, if anyone spots problems please PM or email me directly (bob@pyrosociety.org.uk). Regular forum posts go largely unnoticed.

Cool.

Sorry i just thought you were the only ones that could do it. Don't think it's wise for me to attempt anything I.T related, i'll ask Meshell.

Hi Guys, Many thanks again for a great day on Sat, really enjoyed meeting everyone & listening to all the talks.

I put my membership application in a couple of weeks ago (by post), but I think that the address on the UKPS website is currently out of date? If so is it worth sending all the info again or will the first lot make it round to where it's meant to be eventually?

Hi JamesB - your membership application has been received, apologies for not contacting you sooner. As I am stepping down as membership secretary I am in the process of training my successor, so please bear with us and we will get your membership card in the post as soon as possible.

With no disrespect, it is looking rather out of date- such as the 2015 is still an announced event. I don't mean this in a bitchy/trollish way, but it doesn't look very active.

OK, interest in fireworks to be resumed in the spring. It usually is. ;)

Cool. :) I just feel that if a group is going to have a website at all, it makes sense to keep it updated. :) Or "generic" so it doesn't go out of date.
