anyone know what "straffing" charges are being used for the large dust hits from ground effects ?

ie. not fireball effects.

standard flash maroons ? perhaps, covered in suitable dust / talc / chalk powder ?

I'd guess that almost all of the choice is determined by the range at which the effect is to be seen. It could be an HE or it could be a flash salute or a BP string bound maroon which go up to 400g I think (and move a lot of dirt!).

Keep mannequins and watermelons away from fireworks..they always get hurt..
