Kentish says 75 grams per litre, but Kyle (of passfire fame) says 27 grams per litre is sufficent.

I have heard of 4%, 7%, and 10% being used, but I can't remember which formulas the different percentages came from.

Also, you might want to consider this:

"Gum arabic is acidic due to its high content of glucuronic acids, although
these generally form salts with alkali or alkaline earth metals.

By using a freshly boiled water addition much of the bacterial action can be
hindered.

Gum arabic is a very good binder if pure water is used as a solvent."

I've read that prepared Gum Arabic solution should be used on the day of production, to stop it from beginning to ferment, but I have no direct experience with making it. I have only used pre-prepared stuff, which seems to store well - I have a pot of it sitting on my shelf.

You can add a little amount of ascorbic acid to the solution, so it won?t ferment over the time.

Why Is very difficult to dissolve the ARABIC GUM, in water ?

One day or two to be dissolved, completely ?

The water must be "cool" or "hot", for it ?

Yet, I do not know the ideal proportion ARABIC GUM- WATER for "prime" with BP my stars rolling. :(

Please. I need to help. :(

Some type of reaction can exist, decomposition ? spontaneous combustion, to the contact the ascorbic acid (vitamin C) of strong oxidizers: as nitrates, perchlorates, clorine donors ? metallic powders?

http://kremer-pigmen...ntl.catalog.htm

It is listed under: Gum accroides
and Gum arabic

I order from that shop, too. They have one for germany only, so they?re quite "cheap". 1 kilo costs 18.5? there (red gum). One kilo gum arabic is 8.5?.

Don?t know the shipping costs to the UK....
