I was wondering if people have ever used model rickets as weapons or mixing them with fireworks. e.g

You get a model rocket that has a payload pod and fill it with BP and fix a fuse.

I know this is a little off topic but i just couldn't keep it off for aney longer.

cheers,

Steady, your on dangerous ground here.
But as you asked.
There are practical problems to overcome first.
Guidance... Where the hell is the damn thing going to end up; not good if it goes all squirrely on you.
Fusing... Contact or Time; either one could cause BIG problems if your missile went as above.
Then you have the legal aspect.
As soon as you put a warhead, coz that's what it is, in an otherwise innocent model rocket, you have got yourself a Munition of War requiring an End User Certificate.
As much as this sort of thing is fun (part of my work), it is not the sort of exercise I would make public enquiries about.
As an aside. When we were kids we used to load firework rockets into scaffold tubes and fire them at each other across a lake. I still have a vivid image in my mind of one of my rockets whizzing like a LAW across the lake, disappearing into a Rhododendron bush, exploding into a huge ball of pretties, closely followed by one of my friends, who was in the bush, running away a warp factor snot... Oh what fun.
If in doubt BANG OUT!

Kimbolton's cat3 aerial fireworks use rockets with sticks to launch a pretty fx payload into the sky and ignite it at about 200ft. The point of a firework is a pleasurable pretty effect at a safe viewing range. Discussion of woosh, bang oh nasties will bring upon you the wrath of the Admin and moderators.

To be on this forum, Woosh is OK, Bang can be OK, Ahh pretty is necessary.

Some members have certification premises and authorised good cause to deal with the un-pretty side of this technology, please leave it to them.

Keep mannequins and watermelons away from fireworks..they always get hurt..

I'm sorry, you just broke one of our rules, this is unacceptable. Anyone considering a firework as a 'weapon' clearly has no place on this forum.

Bye!

I see fireworks as a weapon because it is as powerful as a weapon but I definitely don't use it as a weapon!!! I would definitely NOT make something like I firework that is already powerful enough to kill you even more powerful so it can kill you and half the block! That?s insane for me!!!
But that?s me, I don't know how you guys see at that...
Sorry for my grammar?

Richard H is quite correct in his actions.
The "crime" is not in thinking about these things (who can put their hand on their heart and say they have never thought such things), it is in speaking out loud about them. The quest for knowledge is a good thing, but when the answer to that quest slides into the "Dark Side" beware. We all have a duty in this day and age to protect ourselves from those who could do us harm. "The needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few, and the needs of the few out weigh the needs of the individual".

Have fun, but stay safe and true to your fellows.

P.S.
neo. A firework by design is not a weapon. anymore than a pencil or hammer is.
An object is, or becomes a weapon through design or use. A LAW (Light Anti-Tank Weapon) for example, was designed from the outset to cause damage to another object, ergo a weapon. A firework rocket is designed for display purposes only, but put a "warhead" on it and you have changed it's design usage to that of weapon. Your pencil shoved into someones eye or your hammer used to thump someone over the head, have by those actions had their design criteria changed to that of a weapon.
I hope that sets things straight for you.

And on those thoughts we'll close this thread. Let this serve as a warning to anyone planning on misusing fireworks for nefarious purposes.
