Even $5 a kilo is not that great. I wouldn't expect to pay anymore than $2 to $3 a kilo direct from any supplier for a reasonable grade. I pay about $5 a kilo, and that is through a middle man with something extra added in for him no doubt.

Mumbles, please remember what country you are in! It is very different for people over here if they don't have the right contacts.

I'm sorry, I was thinking wrong. I can't even figure out what it was. That is a very good turn around price, much better than you can get here without purchasing by the drum. I believe I thought that was his bulk price he paid for it. In which case, because I assume he is getting it direct from the manufacturer, that price isn't great. I guess he is getting it cheap if he can sell it for $5 a kilo.

Exactly, I can get it cheaper than 5$ a kilo, but then I have to order it directly from a manufacturer, and I don't like ordering 25 Kg of one chemical at once.

Unfortunately my previously announced pyrotechnics web store has taken some time to get up an running, but should now be up and running in a few days. The reason for the delay is, among other things, due to problems with the Norwegian Authorities with regards to sale of chemicals. This problem is now solved.

The web address on the web store will be: www.pyroteknikk.no

I have a friend to translate for me, before I paste the text

This because I`m not good at english.

The thread is called "New pyro product shop", he clearly stated his intention to sell products cheaper than Skylighter etc (which is "advertising" & "promotion" & will definitely incite comercial gain) so why was he initially welcomed & wished well? You should have closed this thread back in October if you are going to hold to the letter of the law (or rule number 2 in this case).

We don't generally hack on the head people for wanting to venture into areas that will legally enhance member?s ability to practice the art (again legally.). You will note that in many other areas we had allowed limited posts regarding possible other ventures. However, there is a line where posts stop being just a declaration of intention and start being a clear commercial activity. This line is drawn by the moderators, but everyone must be aware that we do intent to adhere to the rules of the forum, and everyone here agreed to those rules when they registered.

If you have seen the posts that were removed from those forum, I?m sure you will agree that those were a very clear cut advertising for the purpose of selling on the forum ? and that?s stop being a border line.

If the member (or anyone else to that matter), want to challenge the decision, they can do so by PM the moderator/administrator with the reasoning behind the challenge, and we will consider it.

Fair enough - I take your point. Making himself & his intentions known to us is one thing, but I suppose posting the product list as well as prices crossed the line. PM is the way :)

Now then. I quite agree with the ethos behind the ruling. BUT might it not be a good idea to have a sub forum where people can advertise stuff? we all need to buy things now and again, and you never know someone might turn up selling something new and interesting.

This is in the works Trev. The plan is a section on our new site where members and trade users can place adverts.

Still having grief with Companies House, but the pyro society is nearly there! I keep saying it, but stay tuned viewers.

I think the European pyro scene needs a place where people can openly advertise and sell pyro related items. I'm sure this would really boost the hobby and I think it would be great to see a market place in association with UKR.

There are ALLOT of legal issues behind that. I have to assume to people who buy those chemical build fireworks in a legal manner (If you don't, please don't use the forum to advertise this fact!!!), but I suspect that HSE and other regulators will ask the question at some point. When that happens, I doubt if the society will want to be a part of the scene. From my personal prospective, the first step is to get exemptions for the hobbyist community, and when you get a legal status, worry about the suppliers.

(Please don't start discussion about the law following this post. I post it here to explain the problems about allowing trade on the forum. Legal issues should be discussed in the law thread.)
