hi there all,
ive done as much research as possible and i have found that most smokes are made with kno3/ sugar or kclo ??
would the chlorine not produce chloring gas in the reaction, sorry my a level chemistry is very very rusty!
does kno3/sugar produce hazardous smoke?
also am i right in thinking that if i confine the reaction more i will reduce the size of flames?
for paintball i am looking for a screen of dense smoke any advise?
also can you add anything to the mix to colour the smoke?
finially i have seen people mention other addatives like parafin wax? can anyone advise me on mix ratios and gained benefits.

Kno3/sugar is nontoxic and smells like candy. Ive tried it in paintball before, problem is, if you cook it the smoke released is not dense at all. Allot of smoke which drifts away is not good. I just swapped the sugar for charcoal, kept the ratio and it gave good reults.

If you try to melt KNO3 and C, you will ignite it. It is just mixed together, sometimes ball milled for a faster production.
