not sure about 400+mesh but http://www.tiranti.co.uk/ do aluminium powder -250 if thats any use to you. bit smaller than you requested but the tin makes good use for making charcoal as some of you have found out :)

Hi Robert

I'd be intersted in Al for both 'noise' and 'stars'. Would you be prepared to let me know where I may purchase supplies?

Thanks

Rhodri

Few notes about the Aluminium from Tiranti ? as I saw that some were wondering about the purity of it.

Trianti AL is a 200 Mesh spherical stabilised AL powder. It is made from either commercial purity aluminium or secondary metal. What this means that sometimes the powder comes from a commercial quality alloy containing 99.5-99.7% AL and sometimes it comes from an alloy that has been recycled and contain 85-97% AL.

How can you know which one you are buying? You can?t. Tiranti don?t make products for Pyro ? they make it for the amateur and professionals sculptures. Aluminium powder mixed with gelcoat gives a very nice grey-mat effect to Lead/Tin based sculptures ? if you are into that sort of things :)

Trace elements that can be found except for aluminium include Iron, Silicon and other.
