Having already got a fair bit stuffed in the attic I couldn't resist the local 'cheap import warehouse' in Devon called Trago Mills, so here's the list of things added to the credit card (there goes the electricity money).

Fireworks International
Tiger sel box £5.99
Cannonade barrage £3.49
Phoenix barrage £5.99
Viper's nest barrage £3.49
Griffin barrage £3.99
Cyclops barrage £7.99
Minotaur barrage £9.99
Lucifer's Dragon barrage £16.99

Golden Lion
Sky Monkey with exploding coconuts (ouch) £8.25
Double blossom (2 bigger fountains) £4.75

Cosmic
Cyclone Wheel 3 pack £3.99
Eruption (5 smaller cones) £3.49

TNT
Liberator barrage selection box £23.99

I know for some on here money is no object, but for me this has to be the end of the expense this year.
you whistle it, i'll hummer it

Fireworks International Cakes are very good.  The Cheeky Cherries cake is very good on its own, or in particular fired in threes :)

A local seasonal shop is doing a selection of 25 shot Fireworks International cakes at buy one get one half price at normal RRP prices.  Very good!

:D

I like Hercules, but it won its "best firework" award as a firework with a £60 RRP. This year the RRP seems to have shot up- £100 in some places. A price rise of 66% is taking the piss a bit, in my opinion.
OK, interest in fireworks to be resumed in the spring. It usually is. ;)

yes i agree price's have shot up a lot this year, maybe i'll just get one instead of three <_< which is a real shame, is it a knock on effect of fuel prices/ inflation ect, or just greed?, ho id like to see three airb++bs pack as well

I think it is a case of what Brothers charge the retailers. At the end of the day, business is business- if you like something, you pay for it!

Personally, I liked Hercules, but didn't think it was anything very special. I think it may have won it's award because at £60 RRP it was great value.

so what would you recommend for a top class cake then? Hercules is just pure action, where other similar sized finale cakes are a big yawn like this grand finale ive had loads of big cakes like this very long and dull, brother really pack a punch, last year people in my mother-in laws street complained about the noise from the brother stuff i used, this was on the nov 5th!, this has never happened before in fifteen years so im happy with that :)

Well, a lot of places still have pre-2008 spec stuff- if you can get a Tiger's Revenge that is the best. I also like Epic's Awaken, that is mental. You need a LOT of space to appreciate them.

Righto my stuff, so far...

All from Epic.

Brothers Companion Selection Box
Super Starburst Rockets
Thunder Blast Rockets
Supreme Rockets
Brothers Choice Imperial
Fragma
Heavy Duty
Predator 500
King Cobra
Thunder King
Humming Hornets
Tomahawk Rocket Pack

Still to come Mines (probably Moon Boom x 2), and a box of fountains, and anything else that takes my fancy on my travels (not looking for much else though really).

Hell as long as I entertain our guests and out-do the neighbours with the above I'll be more than happy!!!! Last year ended up with way, way to much small stuff and it took an age to get through them all.
