Gigantic Idiot more like.

I, and a few others im sure, are becoming tired of your remarks.

GIGANTIC CRAB "does not care for your safety"

Just remember that folks.

Yes, ignore the helpful safety heads up from someone with an absolute wealth of consumer and professional fireworks experience and concentrate on the remark that:
1) is obviously not serious.
and
2) comes from someone who thinks they are a talking despotic crustacean of enormous proportions.

Gigantic Crab!!! rolls his eyes (easily, they are on stalks) and yawns loudly in your direction.

If, perhaps, ive taken your sarcasitc comment incorrectly, then i retract my thoughts.

Incidently, when was the last time you had your mental health evaluated - as pretending to be a crab might seem strange to some folks !!!

Gigantic Crab is a part of the furniture. Personally I find his posts raise a smile, and when it comes to fireworks, he knows his stuff.

Experts agree
OK, interest in fireworks to be resumed in the spring. It usually is. ;)

Nice to get a bit of humour from time to time from old crusty but I think it would be good also if "the experts" got serious about stopping the rot in our fireworks industry eg, the demise of loud fireworks, and tackling the clowns that are trying to give it a bad name etc etc rant rant.

I thought the epetition was a fine idea but it doesnt seem to be going anywhere. Any thoughts staff ??

Gigantic Crab!!! sadly believes that the industry is too small for the powers that be to give a flying ahem about. It is why so many enthusiasts end up dipping their toes in professional waters where the big toys can be found.

Indeed - there are not many Cat 3 enthusiasts who don't also do a bit of Cat 4 .

That's not the Gigantic Crab!!!, it's his nephew Terry! He's a right plank; carapace was too soft at birth and he ended up a bit slow.
Poor lad.
Does enjoy his fireworks though, I swear Z firing fan cakes hypnotize the docile little bastard!

Yes I can see your point but this I feel is sort of lying down on the issue. There is still a big market for CAT 3 and 1.3G. Epic seem to be doing a fine job in capturing and encouraging that market.

Of course that is not to say that my toes couldnt be tempted into the inviting waters of CAT 4.......... but what if Gigantic Crab!!!! nipped them off ?

i bourght a proton bomb a few months ago it was a 16 shot wen it gone off it was like 16 small star bursts each one a different coloure it wasnt like the original proton bomb pretty crap

Yep- new spec, totally different firework. Even with the same name and label.

We need to accept that the old "bang" classics are gone. End of.

Sure, there is a bit of stuff that bangs still around in mesh, but we are talking, what, £40 plus RRPs.

I know of a seasonal shop round my way that were selling the original two shot Proton Bombs last year. £2 each IIRC.

Does noone remember Stealth Bombers by Brightstar too?

I remember the Stealth bombers well,i bought quite a few whilst i could, along with other airbombs, and have used them sparingly over the years. I have used all the Stealth Bombers now,but still have a few tasty items left for the right occasion.:D

I still have some Standard Air Bombs and Bazookas in my collection as well as some Black Cat Thunder King Single shot Air Bombs and a Panda Bamboo Candle which is 6 shot Air Bomb battery,i still don't know when i will fire these, had them safely stored for years! Must agree about new spec. stuff with the old names,my favourite,Armageddon from Cosmic which used to be a 19 shot Titanium Bomb is now just another coloured shellburst,o.k.,but very run of the mill,i'm afraid the days of the good loud bangs are definitely gone and does anyone else get fed up with all these crackling stars in nearly every firework,a poor substitute for a good bang!
