Well I received my catalogue today and I must say it's filled with some great fireworks and
some equally great deals.
Just one gripe though, why have Epic followed in the footsteps of so many other companies and
'insulted our intelligence' with some of these deals? Just two examples of many...
"Plus a free chinese lantern worth £4.99"
"A free sky thriller rocket worth £29.99"
Come on guys, all of us know Chinese Lanterns aren't £4.99 anywhere in the country and Sky Thriller
Rockets would never sell for £30 each. You're good enough without having to resort to this type of
advertising. These massively overblown RRP's really do get on my t*ts, I expect it from most firework
companies but not from somewhere like Epic.
Interesting points there. What an item is "worth" is always going to be subjective.
Thats why it's best to look beyond the advertised discounts (on any product, from any shop, but especially when dealing with own brands that are discounted.) Ask- "This item is being sold for £25 (for example) - is that worth it to me?" Ignore the "RRP £50" etc.
Generally speaking, Epics stuff
is good value some of it is very good value- that's based on experience.
But to say " It has to be said that any firework is good at these prices " or "because it's half price, it MUST be good value" simply isn't a smart way to shop. Seems a lot of people (buying from many shops, most obviously supermarkets) don't realise this.
But yeah, full credit to Epic this year- videos are up, catalogues out etc- some stuff is catching my eye.
