Has anyone got any experience with Esco (Part of Bright Star) Fireworks?

I have found an offer to buy their Mardi Gras box which appears to have an RRP of £149.99 on a two week promotion for £32.50

See the Mardi Gras box on this page
http://www.brightsta...-Fireworks.html

This price seems too good to pass over, but I haven't got to the seller yet, so don't know if it really is a good sized box, or if the 50 fireworks are all tiny.

From what I have read, Esco used to be a good value brand, but disappeared for a while and is now operating as part of Bright Star.

Any opinions on if these will be any good?

Ok...THe RRP may be £149.99 but the retialer will use this price to sell it for probably half that... i.e. RRP £149.99, our price
£74.99 - saving you £74.99...So it becomes a £74.99 box in reality...Is that price of £32.50 for the retailer to buy? If you can
get one for £32.50 then it'll obviously be worth it but you're still only getting the three P's (piss poor pyro)...If a retailer
sells this box for £100, that's £2 per firework...and what sort of thing do you believe you'll get for £2 a piece?

Besides, a selection box for £149.99 ? Yeah ok...The only selection box that comes any where near that value would be the Wild
Cube box...There are a few places that have these left, think you can pick them up for £99.99...Only 21 fireworks in them but
it's full of top quality fountains, Roman Candles and Mines.

Just my 2p's worth ;)

Yes, if the box is so readily flogged for 1/4 the RRP, then the original price must have been inflated to make the deal look even better.

I am only putting on a small back garden display, so am hoping that the selection will have a few more impressive ones, even if half are really cheap rubbish, the rest might make a better display.

What I am wondering is if the smaller boxes with fewer which are selling for about the same price would then be a higher quality firework, or simply a scaled down version of the bigger box but but then sold at RRP so being far worse value.

If I were spending hundreds on a display then I would buy individual ones, but for a simple back garden display I don't want to spend much, nor do I have the space for really good fireworks. I just don't want it to be a flop.

Well yep, it's horses for courses then... :)

If all you have is a small back garden and you all you need are these types of fireworks then why not try Sainsbury's? I've
seen what they have this year and all their selection boxes and fireworks up to £40 are BOGOF. I don't recommend anyone buy
anything from a Supermarket in any other circumstances than your own.

I've said here before, the best smaller type of selection box is probably the Companion box from Brothers. But even with that
there are some (what I would consider) #poor# fountains. It's all about what you expect...You say you don't want your display
to be a flop but what would constitute a flop? If your expectations of a garden display box are anything but low, then you
will be disappointed.

Visit Epic FIreworks website...I'm almost positive they have a video of the Companion box - that will give you some idea.

I thought the fountains out of the Companion Box were amongst the best I've ever had, especially compared to much bigger sized items, great for back gardens.

That's the beauty of this site and fireworks - we all have out own opinions ;) And, to be fair, there were only a
few of the fountains that I felt were 'poor' in the Companion box - not all of them.

Yep, looking forward to getting a conic fountain this year, something different, never had one!

Well I went and had a look at it. The box is very large, about 100cm x 40cm x 13cm pretty heavy and the fireworks look a good size when compared to most consumer selection boxes. Won't know until the night how good they are, but it certainly looks hopeful.

Well I do hope it is what you're looking for and you get your deserved money's worth...Have my fingers crossed that
the bigger cakes are big because of the amount of tubes they have and not because they've been made to look big
because of all the gaps between the said tubes.

How come when you go to the Esco section of the Bright Star website you get a selection of Night Star and Men Shun fireworks as well? See here.
