It seems that Kimbolton doesn't like bad publicity and are using bully boy tactics to me.
Freud. Artists, in this view, are people who may avoid neurosis and perversion by sublimating their impulses in their work.

It would appear that more than one party read your posting in a very similar way

It did come across as a libellious remark about an incident well in the past. I don't think anbody likes bad publicity.

I just wonder why the negative spin on here? This display is an excellent bit of publicity for the British fireworks industry. We should be promoting the positive aspects of a frankly staggering piece of event production.

why are they even interested in a members comment on a small pyro forum its not exactly the national press is it?

Tap pretty much anything firework related into google and this forum along with UKFR pretty much are always near the top of the search, Paul isn't just a forum member, he is a fireworks business owner and trade customer of Kimbolton.

UKPS is not a small fireworks forum, bear in mind the part the society is playing in the design of certain explosive leglislation.

I post as an individual, not as a business and i hardly think my opinion are going to lose them business. Iv already pm richard what i meant by the comment and its nothing to do with what some people were thinking.

in google the ukps is fireworks manufacture related so i dont think kimbolton have to worry.

just recently there has been a rather bad press about the M5 firework accident and from what iv read the firework company was not guilty but with the bad publicity do you think the london Olympics would allow them to do the fireworks ??

hence my comment about kimbolton, i am no way pointing out there competence or anything (as i am a tiny dot compared to them) but mealy stating getting a major contract like that is bloody hard to get and you can never get rid of mark like that on your safety record just because the fines / court costs ect have been paid.

uhhhhhhh yeah really. this forum is about manufacture, i dont sell anything on here, i came on here like many people with interests as a hobby in no way linked to business which even the staff of the ukps could confirm.

there's a reason why big firework company dont post or even hide behind fake forum names, something im only starting to learn because your not allowed an opinion or say anything if you own a business.

It's called professional integrity, you not only represent your business but the industry too (at least in the eyes of the general public)

I think your wrong in saying UKPS is dedicated to the manufacture of pyrotechnics, if so 60% of its forum topics are defunct.

One of the UKPS' aims is to 'To support the UK fireworks industry as a whole'.

Some opinions should perhaps be kept to ourselves, bitching between each other, other companies and their contracts isn't getting anybody anywhere, so

Guess the big boys always attract this type of rubishing and they will be used to it, for you to suggest they got this contract through business ties is beyond me.

Its very sad.

Quote: I don`t know for sure, but I believe some of these GLA tenders/contracts run for a period of a few years = thats probably why Kimbolton seem to be heading up these big events more & more in recent times, that said, and what with Boris being a Tory mayor and the Ron`s son being an Tory MP should we not be surprised?

OMG, are you serious? why would it be beyond you?

Firstly I have not rubished anyone, secondly I have not suggested any improper behaviour between the persons I mentioned, I am merely suggesting that having common goals or ideals can often have benificial effects (giving that company or persons the edge in perhaps getting the contract), this could come in the form of say belonging to a relevant trade association, business club, political party, taking someone out to lunch etc etc, in essence they call this NETWORKING! which is not illegal and common practice in every day society, that said, this is only a small part of the picture.
