Can anyone enlighten me on this product.  It is apparently a powder which is pushed out of a squeeze bottle and "make it look like you have a flame thrower from you fingers"  Thank you

I believe that this is lycopodium powder, (i hope that i have spelt that right) which you can obtain from inoxia.

I'm not sure what magicians would use to ignite it but I'd try with a small lighter, I'm sure you could rig something up based on an electronic spark lighter design.

See for an example of it's use:

Not sure how well it would work with a spark. For hand-based effects I think it's more common to use a 'hand flasher' type device with flash cotton/paper, like these:

They are a lot of fun : )

To the best of my knowledge, Lycopodium powder can be dusted into the soft flame of a "Bunsen Burner" or the like and it burns with a yellow/white flame and burns away completely and almost instantly.

For the hand held items special flint or glow plug devices are used to propel a burning piece of flash paper with some flash cotton. This tends to be more a travelling ball of flame.
