AP Star Primes

Hi all

I want to make some awesome blue stars "Bleser AP Blue #20" but I know the priming can be tricky.

Can anyone suggest any good formulas for this comp?

AP prime. David Bleser

Potassium Perchlorate 75

Red Gum                    12

Charcoal Airfloat            9

Dextrin                         4

Dry core first, then roll about 1/32" of this prime on all AP stars before more layers or final BP prime. If next comp is nitrate based, then apply this prime with 6% NC lacquer to prevent nitrate leeching into the AP core.

I don’t; I roll this prime on, then roll a single, very dusty layer of my meal + Si prime and haven’t had a problem with ignition.

Just thinking, is a AP blue better than chlorate blue anybody know?

This is exactly the reason why I want to try AP based blues. I've tried a KP based blue which was nice but I've read that AP ones are the best.
