Happy "Explosives Regulations 2014" Day!

Todays the day when ER 2014 finally comes into force!

We've come a long way, so I think its finally time to be proud of your hobby - so get out the bubbly and celebrate! 

Its certainly a moment in history of the UKPS!

I have been reading through the guidelines and i am impressed by it all, the fact that we can now make experimental devices of up to 100g NEQ ,with the piece of mind that as long as we follow the guidelines is fantastic,

Even though i now have access to any material i need in the way of cat4 ,it is great that i can put a cracking rocket together etc and fire it from my garden without worrying that my door may be coming in ,

I have been fairly quiet on the fireworks front after a visit from CID (on a chemistry related visit rather than pyro - but still very unsettling and not something I'd want to repeat)

Its great to finally have some clarity.  I am looking to move house to somewhere with an acre or two of land and was thinking that it might be better to hold off applying for the appropriate licences until after I move.

I will echo everyone's sentiments with this and say a big thank you for putting so much effort in to protect the interests of experimental pyrotechnics in this country.

Knowing now that there is a clearly defined legal path to be able to take part in such a hobby and not have it regarded as taboo anymore is a rousing success.
