I made my own tooling for 1" end burners. First pic is the motor and the second is a size comparison of the rocket to a CD

I don't have my cam here so I can't take an updated pic of my tooling but here is one before I machined the spindle:

And here is the movie of that one with a 3" dragons egg shell on the top of it.

Looks like a really nice rocket Daniel. It looks like a comercial rocket and it's making me want a press. Ive made another tonight and gonna set them both off on nov5. My second one i made tonight using a superior made case is gonna carry a 2 inch cylinder shell hopefully. Gonna use the formula you gave me for your silver stars shell only using an h3 burst.

Well a big disapointment. The nozzle blasted out on the first one and the second one but the second one was kinda supposed to(long story).

I think I need to give up on this rocket. I dont think I can press the propellant in hard enough with my vice.

Why are you using a vice? Just get a rammer and a wooden mallet!

It's a very big vice. Hammer tends to end up with split cases from the sudden impact and i get better nozzles and plugs using the vice.

Really though I think 1 inch is too much to solidly press together in a rocket using your hands. The commercial rockets I had were unreal compared to my own. Especially the big black cat kestral that carried up a nice spider shell and had a flash burst :)

I've seen that video before, the fins were made from G10. The fins hardly flutter, it's something to do with the video that makes it look that way.

Check out this thread on The Rocketry Forum where it was discussed. http://www.rocketryf...light=g10 video

Yes I use normal rolling methods. I would suggest using dextrin glue over PVA glue for these tubes. They need to hold a fair bit of preasure. I can't say PVA doesn't hold up because I simply havn't ever found one of these rockets after launch :P
