Hi Guys,

I wanted to share something I've been doing for a few years now. I fly remote controlled helicopters, and have a passion for fireworks. I incorporated both of these things into something you've never seen before!

I think this could be a wonderful application for fireworks shows.... with the heli, fireworks become directional....I can make them go wherever I want :)

Check out Helicopters and fireworks

That's excellent! Ever accidentally shot down one of the model choppers with a shell or flack from a mine? :D

hehe, we had a mid air while filming, we also put 22 2" mortar shells on a small heli and set them off all at once... I won't tell you the outcome... ;) The trailer does not show it all....had to tease people a little :D I spent over $5000 to make this project happen, hope to break even!!!

Exxcelent work, Mike!

Reminds me of the time I tried to attach a Guncotton cannon to my RC car. Never worked :(

I'm interested in how you fuse up the chopper - I saw visco in the pictures, but o you use any e-matches? If so, how do you trigger them? I can just imagine adding a few nice militairy style switches to the remote control :D

God that's fabulous.

Do you balance the pyro force vectors, or design them into the display?

THATS Awsome!
I'll have to see if I can dig up some footage a budy of mine has shooting rockets off a remote control plane.

I love it! I can buy a pack of smokes which will hurt me for sure! Yet theres a 1000 laws in place to protect me from myself . I guess its ok to harm your self if its slow and will help the economy.

I am using electric matches with a custom firing sequencer my friend made. He is an electrical engineer. It only requires one channel off the transmitter and I can fire 4 times...

I am a team pilot for Miniature Aircraft, I fly the Fury Tempest...

Trailer is just a little tease, full video shows quite a bit more

Nice work. Got me humming the Airwolf theme!

Please bare in mind the safety aspects of such crazyness!! B)

It would be so wicked to have a dogfight with those choppers (but potentially a bit expensive), chasing each other firing candles off!

now that is amazing ! reminds me of helicopters in battle, out of interest are some of the fireworks shooting at the helicopters hanging off and following a thin steel twine of sort to give accurate direction?

Damn it, you beat me to it!

I have been wanting to make an RC chopper for years, and that was one of the main things i wanted to do :)

The message blades thing is cool though, does it degrade the performance of the chopper?

If you must argue, remember that it is impossible to defeat an ignorant man in argument.
