Hi Guys
I am very new to the forums and also fairly new to the whole pyro thing.
In january i am going to be doing a course with a local fireworks company.
I am guessing there is quite a few people on this forum who have done courses and have sat the BPA exam/s.
Could anyone give me any ideas on what the course involves and what sort of questions are in the exam.
I would like to do some research into it first so i dont seem to thick when i do the course.

Many Thanks

Swiss Tony

Don't know myself, but probably firework chemistry basics, some shell physics, fuse times, burst heights, lift charges etc. And of course safety, and I think it involves a free-form written segment on a pyro topic of your choice? Dont rely on this though... it is just something I think I read / heard somewhere.

Emm, well, its noting too hard, if your a dedicated pyro you could probably go in and do the excam and pass first time without having to do the course. There will be a fair bit on law and transportation, safety of course and the rest is basically common sence :) Its also multiple choice, so its not to challanging.

Be prepared to wait a while to find out where or not you have passed, I'd say 4 - 6 weeks, then a wee bitty longer to get the ID card :)

Dont worry about it too much :)

Cheers guys
I am fairly new to the whole pyrotechnics scene.
My uncle has done it for years though.
This year i am going to hopefully be joining battel bonfire boys.
I am doing the course with a friend of my uncles who owns a very large pyro company in the south.
Doing it very cheaply as well :D
Cant wait till january now. I dont care about xmas :D
