I basicly want a good sized report for my rockets. And since the ingridients for
yellow powder are easily obtainable i tought i'd make a batch of it.
Just some basic questions.
- Does it have the potential to make a big bang without it being melted together (far to dangerous)
- Possible to ignite with a fuse

I had a few experiments with this a while back. And no, just mixing the components does not do anything other than burn badly. Personally I wouldn't like to store it either. The stuff I made was mixed and placed on a thick peice of metal, and a blowtorch was set up below and left to melt and ultimatly set off the mixture.
The composition was used for bullet primes, so obviously is shock sensitive, so sticking it in any firework would not be the brightest idea.

Ballmilling all thre chems together gives as steve allready stated a bad powder. This stuff then isn?t usable stuff at all.
Melting is possible but too dangerous. I made a batch once and didn?t do it again. This stuff, when melted is extremely dangerous and can destruct a tin can easily. This is the reason it was produced at a thick metal plate.
But to answer your questions: No, this stuff is not usable for a big salute on a rocket oder in firecrackers.
Instead you can make a big bang with good blackpowder :)

well this stuff sounds a bit too dangerous to make at home.
Just so.....i read on PanMaster's site that i can be made by heating the soda and Sulphur untill they react and then add KNO3
But since it has no uses in pyrotechincs i guess it's a bad idea to make

Yes it's realy useless, apart from being friction sensitive it's also very hygroscopic
and will loose it's fast burning properties in days.
It also releases a realy horrible hydrogensulfide (rotten eggs) stench.
DANGAROUS and USELESS don't make it.
