Hi everyone!

I have been given the task of firing a small-ish display for a friends engagement party.

I have pretty much everything set for the display bar the finale.

For the finale i was thinking of setting off a piece of lancework with the couples initials on either side of a glowing heart shape, along with some shell style bursts up above.

I was thinking along the lines of mixed colored chrysanthemums (Red, Blue, Gold, Green, Silver) with 2 "silver strobe" shell style bursts up above to round the whole thing off.

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the ball head rockets from millenium, namely the 2 inch ballhead rockets and the 2 1/2 inch ballhead rockets.

These were reccomended to me by millenium, and was just looking to second this reccomendation and the double check that they are suitable for the job at hand.

Look forward to hearing your replies!

All the best!

The only ball-head rockets that I have used are the Black Cat ones that have small 2" shells on top, excellent bursts but not much noise sadly

You know what adds an awesome report for those small shells, mix in 20% of the blackpowder weight worth of 70:30 flashpowder. (70:30 flash is 70KCLO4, 30Dark pyro aluminum, other flashes like Mg:KNO3 will blow the stars blind) So that means that if you have 100grams of blackpowder for bursting, mix in 20grams of 70:30 flash.

KCLO4 and Dark pyro are very hard to get in uk. plus dangerous and powerful, it could also shatter any stars. a good rocket i used a while ago was some zink ones, some wow effects and kimbolton use them. bit pricey though and not 'ball shell' style, but even so very nice!!!!

Without sounding like a salesman, the Kimbolton rockets and the Zink rockets from Kimbolton are pretty good.
I have used a few and the effects are great..even on the smaller rockets.

:D I have had the Millennium Ball-Head Rockets and they are very good indeed, but like any range of rockets performance can vary widely with the effect(s) available, the Gold Glitter and Red Diadem versions are quite good as is the Silver Willow, but the others are a bit of a muchness-"good or poor make up your own minds" sort of thing. With the remaining 3 effects you either love em' or you don't. ;)

I dont think its a good idea to ask for peoples passwords, i am a member of it but i am afraid i cant give you my password as this may invalidate my membership. Its not all that expensive for what you get.

I don't think it is a very good idea to start sharing user accounts.

Yes actually it isn't at all. Even using the same account from different computers has caused hassle for some people!

Has anyone ever brought a Whoppa (Black Cat)? At around ?16 A piece they are expensive but the reviews of them are superb!

Were they worth the money? And would they be good for finishing a display?

I bought them in the past, before I knew any better. I would not pay ?16 for any rocket. Best launching larger volleys of smaller rockets for a good overall effect.

It is worth remembering that with the Whopper et al, you are paying for a large stick and a fancy plastic case 1/2 to 3/4 full of Chinese air.

I have brought several in the past and i think their performance is very good. The heading consists of a 3" round shell separated from the top of the motor by a 12g bag of flash. Yes they are expensive at ?16 a go, but it's all down to wether you are prepared to fork out the cash for 1 rocket! I for one, will be buying more for this 5th.

I bought two for a display i did in 2002 for my family, the burst from them was quite large. 12g!!! thats way too much, maybe it was dirty flash? I got some zink 4oz rockets too and they were very nice, shimmering saphire was beautiful!
