Hey all. i was wondering, can i do a variation of the CIA method, but because i dont have a ball mill, can i use a blender? i came across the 'pyroteknix' site, and the instructions are at the bottom:

maybe this would work? i dont want to buy a ball mill, as they are expensive (cant find one less than 65 dollars with media price included) and i cant make one as i do not know where i could get such powerful motors. any suggestions? hopefully i could get by with the blender method?

lol. why? did you read the instructions detailed on the site? its not like you run the blender dry... or maybe it still is a bad idea? anyone else?

Use the blender for charcoal/sulphur only! Making blackpowder in it WILL cause an accident... As i took apart my blender for cleaning it throughly the whole inner was full of black dust from charcoal. Imagine this dust is blackpowder.....

The motors are very high speed and they spark alot!

If blenders were a good idea we would all be using them. Build a ball mill, it will be in your interests to do so.

very very very bad idea!!!!!!
I have done charcoal in a blender and sometimes I smell it burning from the friction. Do not evne think about using a blender it will be like a grenade in your hand. DO NOT do it!

ok. i guess those directions arent the best... lol. thanks for the advice, i definately wont try it. i just thought that because the mix would be wet, it would make a difference, but i guess not. so, can anyone point me to a thread on where i could find out where to get a motor for a ball mill? i dont have access really to any old washing machines...
