Thanks guys. It rained like I have never seen rain before! It caused us problems with the firing system and some material did not fire. Our show did not go as we had hoped and it is fair to say we were very disappointed with it. We lost some very good sequences and the sound system totally spoiled it. I thought Spitfire, as always, put on a very good show and they deserved to win it, for the second year running :P

Rob, The demo used 3" & 4" shells, although the burst you saw in the demo was not large for a 4" shell (but a more dense long-burn effect). Most of the shells you saw in the teams shows were 3"+4", with the very largest being 6".

The noticable pauses happen where material fails to fire for one reason or another. The weather did not help at all :(

I too would say that the music problem was due to incorrect phase. From where I was it sounded awful and I think it really detracted from the score.

Everyone was lucky to fire as much as they did after the amount of H2O that was rained. Some problems, however were not symptomatic of damp and I think maybe Spitfire had some electrical problems.

Could anyone actually read what was on the green laser-projected screen?

I wish the presenter didn't count down on the demo items - It made the demo look unprofessional - as if they couldn't get the timing right. No countdown was needed.

It's a pity that not as many people voted as could have. I think people just want the fireworks and then hurriedly leave. But overall it was a good, but rather anticlimactic night for me. Curse the sound people!

Did anyone else really like the ?candles? / ?gerbs? that I think the last team (Pyromania?) used? - I don't know what the devices were (but will find out) but they were in a big front row and zapped lots of orange / yellow (and maybe other colour) globs into the air). Very quiet but different. I don't know if they were gerbs with microstars or lots of small candles.

Oh and by the way, keep an ear out for us on BBC Radio 4 at some point (to be confirmed)
75 : 15: 10... Enough said!
