There are no substitutes. Sulphur is not hard to get hold of at all. Did you mean Flowers of Sulphur? This can be used but contains free acid and it is advisable to use the Rhombic form.

Sulphur (Note the spelling! this is a british forum!), The real McCoy! Accept no immitations! if you need it so, go to your nearest garden centre, buy a sulphur candle and mill it down to dust. There, Rhombic Sulphur.
