Does anybody remember Sohni (Esco) Fireworks? I do;lots of good value selection boxes with plenty of Chinese and German delights, stupendously great value rocket packs with many good and exciting effects, whistling bangers, bangers, whistlers, aerial shells particularly Martian Missile, mini rockets, single rockets, wheels, fountains, roman candles, cakes, barrages and great sparklers particularly the Weco Polar Electric ones and Esco electric ones, then the company pulled out of fireworks, made a brief reappearance in the mid 90's with brand new stuff and display kits then it got swallowed up by JME and got pushed out and is no more. Shame really! If they were still going today I would still buy their stuff as it was fantastic. :rolleyes:

Yes I remember them. I've got a couple of catalogues from the late 80's of their stuff. Weco rockets and Horse Brand shells. The factory where I used to work made portfires for their kits (before my time), and apparently Sohni had a letter from a customer saying that he thought "the long thin yellow fireworks were excellent value for money, but a bit boring". He'd been sticking them in the ground and lighting them. LOL.
