anthoney - I really hope that one day this will be possible - but will you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stop use the word goverment? What does the goverment has to do with it? It's like a Microsoft Employee saying "I hope Bill Gates will allow me a drinking machine in my floor". Goverment has proper institution to reccomand and execuate. You can't go to Tony and ask for help. You do need to suggest this on the BPS AGM.

,When shells were banned from public sale and use, the Govt WAS going to allow a little bit of flexibility and leeway in the legislation so that trained and qualified enthusiasts with good insurance etc could still get hold of them (limited sizes) and continue to use them
Goverment did not create this rule by themselves.. the fireworks industry proposes most of the legislation themselves. You will find the goverment consults the industry about most of the laws and practicality of various bits of legislation as the Gov believe the industry themselves are the only people with enough knowledge to advise about regulations etc.
,BUT this was given a stern NO-NO by them and swept away totally
Not so, and enthusiast with enough training (proven training) and insurance and storage.. most of us here have storage are able to aquire various fireworks not available to general public... have a look at the KLOB event.. shells all the way to 8".
so giving a little bit of leeway so that trained and qualified firework enthusiasts with good insurance etc could still get hold of 1in,1.5in,2in,2.5in and 3in shells and use them in their displays, anyone agree?
Diasagree all the way.. everything you have said is not possible is and many of us have proven that.
This is not just a case of who you know or who you work for.. only takes a few minutes to fill in the forms from the local police constabulary etc and send them off for storage and explosives certificate and a quick call to Torribles insurance can sort out the rest.. then fire for a few reputable companies to get trained ...
Like I said.. all very possible.
