Here's a packet of Weco "Sydney" rockets which were purchased in Aldi for ?9.99

Posted Image

The packet contains 10 rockets of varying sizes, the larger of them claiming a "shell burst" effect. I've forgotten the names of the smaller ones, but the 2 largest rockets were called "Atlantis" and the ones a size down from them were called "Challenger"

The 2 Atlantis rockets had an excellent effect, they shot off to quite a height, and for a second before bursting, seemingly disapeared lulling you into a false sense of security, then BOOOOOM, a big report and quite a large burst, the one i remember most only seemed to have one colour in the burst but it made a large star shape in the sky, quite a good rocket i thought. Someone watching said "wow, thats like the kind we seen at disneyland!!" lol

I can hardly remember what the Challenger rockets were like to be honest :(

The smaller rockets of the packet had none loud report when bursting, but had quite a nice effect in them none the less.

Overall, i thought these were good value for money, only working out at ?1 each. I'll try and capture some pictures and video later from my video camera and upload them for you to see.

I was gonna buy some rockets from aldi but I thought they would fall apart on the first sign of water/rain... aldi being a cheap ass shop 'n' all. Should have got some by the sounds of it :D

Yeah, they were definately well made rockets, solidly built. Weco is quite a good make aswell from what i've gathered.

I originally went in to buy the "Cobra" pack, which was also ?9.99 but only contained 7 rockets with some ground fireworks aswell, but i was told they'd been taken off sale for safety reasons, not sure why though!

I had the Viper Family Power Assortment pack at ?14.99 and this was quite good value! Big Bertha blew itself apart but the rest were good safe and reliable too!

Looking at the Viper pack on the Aldi flyer right now, looks like a decent selection. What were the "June", "Argos" and "Centro" (think its Centro anyway) rockets like? they look quite big in the picture.

The Juno Centro and Argos rockets go up, then release a flashing coloured ball (this must be the shell) which bursts with a bang to release the stars, the bursts are well executed. Good amount of colour and a decent burst to boot, so these are quite good. :)
