:angry: I just had a delivery from the USA and it had a a nasty bill come with it :angry:

The goods were worth $200 that included about $60 Fast Airmail shipping. I had to pay ?51.56 extra.. thats just annoying...customs duty ?9.84 Customs Vat ?28.22 and a clearance fee of ?13.50..That works out that my Spherical Titanium cost me an extra ?10 Kg!! just in duties...Makes me wanna cry :wacko: ..

I Just made an order from skylighter for 10 lbs of SGRS lets see what nasty bill i get when that arrives..

Merry Xmas......

Yeah, you can also be stung if you are a business when you order fireworks from abroad too;the import duty on them (unless you make lots of money on importing and selling fireworks over here) makes it a pain too! -_-

Thats a real bugger Sasman, is that the normal to pay that much!! Would you pay the same tax's for goods from europe? I am talking to a firework company in spain and they are being very helpful, i obviously cant post anything on here but it just goes to show if you look you will find.

You should have argued about the tarrif it was on. For raw materials the tarrif is usually really low. Does not help the fixed charges though. What a bummer!! :o

Apart from the goods from china, a large majority come from European country's and as we are part of the EU there is no duty as it is all free trade area... correct me if I am wrong.

Hi guys,
I've bought a few things from the States, etc. and I've noticed that you only get stung for import duty if;

1) you use air mail and

2) if Parcelforce are involved.

I've bought amplifiers from China and riflescopes, DVDs from the States and never been charged a penny in duty, as long as it was snail mail.

I bought something from the States, that only cost ?30, including shipping and got stung from those robbing b****** at Parcelforce for this so called "clearance fee".

Got some information, Re. TNT & DHL, that they "bypass" the customs side of things, so if you can get your kit delivered by either of these companies, you might decrease your costs.

Sandy
