Did anybody see the news today regarding the 17 year old who had the police turn up at his house, he was arrested on suspicion of possesing explosive devices. The story can be seen here... http://news.bbc.co.u...ire/4548018.stm
I was just curious whether anybody knows any more about the story. It sounds like it was more HE related than pyro but its still put me on edge a bit. Was the person from this forum?

Hmm. I dont know any more info about it, but it is a bit worrying.
From the picture, it looks like a small terraced house. Keeping any energetic materials in there would surely be a mistake at the best of times.
I would like to think that everybody here has safe and suitable storage space away from populated buildings.

Let's face it. They probably have people scanning this forum all the while anyway, if they thought any of us had HE or the motive to make it they would have raided us by now.

A bit scary really - although I suppose their just doing their job at the end of the day...although you would think they would have kept the story quiet if he was just doing some chemistry (which by the sounds of it he was - released on police bail):

Teenager bailed over "b**b alert"

Its still a bit impractical to run chemistry experiments (pyro or not) in a small terraced house like that - not just for their safety but for the local residents also.

Anyone from Lancashire here that can give us more info?

But having to do 4 controlled explosions suggests there was some live energetic materials, which is irresponsible in such a location anyway.
