Well after 10 years of fireworks love I have decided to start and get into pyrotechnics manufacture on a small scale. I live in the good ol' US of A in New York. I live about 30 minutes away from the world famous Grucci fireworks. Last year when my passion for fireworks was not just noise but colors, aerial shells, fountains, smoke, and ofcourse still deep gut curtling booms I dragged my family to around 5 Grucci firework shows. I do have 500 Mb of webspace and can host videos of firework shows and home shows. If you would like I will show some videos in the forum later on.

Just saying hello and thankgod there is a pyrotechnic forum somewhere on the internet! Also I am a newb at pyrotechnics but know some of the basics.

EDIT: If this is in the wrong forum, I am sorry and mods can ofcourse move it.

Oh great another one from over the pond! (Joking!).

Hi and welcome. I think you have found the ideal place. I am really really suprised there arent any dedicated US firework forums. We have a collection of members from all over the globe (US, Europe, Asia, Australasia) and the more the merrier.

Did you ever get a chance to visit the Grucci factory/site?

Wow quick responses! Thankyou for the welcome.

Sadly I have not been able to visit the site/factory. I do wish to one day and get a good tour. I have seen some city, state, and national class shows the past summer by Grucci and let me tell you even the small 7 minute city class shows are well done for the small budget. The nationaly class show I saw by them was very well done and the choice and broad range of fireworks was VERY well done. Maybe this summer when I am 17 I believe that is the age that they allow visitors to tour the factory.

Adam I too am surprised about that considering the tons of pyrotechnists here in the US and the amount of pyro clubs too. I did find one site but it was dedicated more to HE and I value my limbs :) .

I have a video of a finale from a Grucci show that I will get up on my server when I get some information fixed.

Again thankyou for the welcome!

I look forward to seeing some of your video's. Grucci must rate as one of the best names in fireworks.

Yeah I just cant for some reason log into my server to upload the videos but I will have them up soon. Yes they are definately the best shows I have seen. I did not attend this event but my cousin was fortunate enough to, it was the Light Cycle in Central Park celebrating their 150th anniversary go here and here to read about it and see one picture(only one on the net I can find).

My cousin said the noise was insane having hundreds of salutes go off continuously and than seeing the Halo in the sky was just an amazing sight. Wish I could have been there :( .

Anyways when I get them up I might make a thread dedicated solely for videos and post my videos in there.

Again thanks for the welcome and I am already enjoying my time here!

EDIT:Here is a link to the video from a low budget show. Its the finale of the show. Sorry about the quality I need an IEEE card because it transfers much faster making it best quality. finale I will get some more videos up soon.

Hello Steve #2. What sort of experience do you have and what are your pyro aims? Don't worry about being new, just have a look at the other posts to get a feeling for the forum and post anything interesting or useful you can contribute.

How rude of me. I seem to have posted and posted with no formal introduction. So, HELLO all.

I'm getting back into pyro, after a year or two twiddling my thumbs, staring longingly into the campfire  . Looking forward to a productive year - I think some sort of UK meet up would be great (if only for a beer and a small "legal" shoot) ........ any thoughts?

Welcome, and by the way, the use of punctuation would not go amiss.

Cheers
