Well, I finally took the advice of friends and have volunteered myself at my local store/display company for general field work (I think they'll just let me to do just general rigging/carrying cakes from the van ). Hopefully this will be my opportunity to prove myself with them and possibly work my way up to firing one day (when I complete the Cat 4 training course).

I'll find out either tommorow, sunday or monday wether I can do it or not, I sure hope I can. Anyway, just thought I'd post about it in hope that others who are interested in a professional career will follow suit.
