I run a little display business based in South Cumbria, and am looking to recruit a few more crew members on account of some good shows happening this year. Most of the work is in Cumbria/Lancashire/West Yorkshire, if there's any members in those areas interested, please PM me. Experience preferred, but enthusiasm for pyro, reliability and hard work more important!

Sorry Fishy, since you got your own assembly up there, I sort of forgot about Scotland.

What age would I need to be? I am 17 with no display experience but I am on an electronics course so would be OK at wiring E-matches etc. I live in South Yorkshire (Rotherham/Sheffield area) but would be willing to travel. I get thursdays, fridays and tuesday afternoons off college and I have been looking for a start in pyrotechnics for a while now, as a part time job/hobby.
You can never have a long enough fuse...

Yeah what age would you have to be PyroTrev?

I have had Cat4 experience; staking, fusing, loading ect. I also know how to rig shows up electrically, as I have had experience with the FireOne firing console.

I have had private training by a certified BPA member, so my training is legit. I am scheduled to do my first on site test in early June.

Keep us informed on the details!

I'm currently researching age restrictions with insurers/HSE, will let you know the verdict when I hear back.

You get reviewed during a display to see how well you perform. You have to do everything right.

Just heard back from the insurers, and unfortunately as I suspected there is an 18yrs age limit, due to HSE legislation :( , this applies to anything to do with setting up/breaking down a show. Sorry!

Cheers,

Trevor
