This was started by wanting to know other people's idea's of making a home-made firecracker and what materials are needed

I can start by saying that i use a thick paper and roll it around a rod (the diameter i would like) to create a heavy walled tube, then i wrap it as TIGHT as i can wiht duck tape to conseal the pressure and make the tubing stronger.

Then i cut out a circle from a heavy cardboard box or from a light weight piece of wood, Then i go to the store and buy long or short term Epoxy (depends on how long u want to wait) they all work the same.
I epoxy one circle to the tubing. I also drill a hole into the side to fit the wick into. Then i PACK!! BP into it with as much pressure as u can to make it extremely compact and pressurized. I then epoxy the last cirlce onto the tubing to seal the pressure, then i might epoxy more of the ends and to make sure that the pressure is good.

after all of this you can have fun lighting your own fireworks saftly and with the supervision of adults.

Have fun

Thank you.. :D

This forum isnt really about making firecrackers, plus BP isnt very good for firecrackers due to its better renowned ballistic properties. Flash powder is mainly used in the firecrackers though by looking at the fact that your into making exploding devices only i'd could almost garantee that your not ready for flash powders.
Now if you said put that firecracker on the top of a rocket then that might be more interesting.
There are plenty of resources onthe internet that describe the contruction and different types of novelty exploding devices, all you to do is search.

I would (and i'm sure many other's here would) advise against using flash at this stage. If your really interested in the art and craft of firework's ,do LOTS of reading then experiment with fountains and move on from there. everything is covered here ,search the forum well.

Its seems from your posts your just wanting to make flash bangers, Flake aluminium is very hard to get and its a good thing. Listen to the others that have posted, dont fool with flash many people have been seriously injured and killed by it.

Yep. I've just read it and noticed that. Not much of a bang there. Might be a new type of fountain though.

Hah hah! very amusing, would work if it was chlorate but i dont think he'd still have to fingers to type if it was chlorate BP!
Sounds alot like an old consumer novelty firework i wonlce played with before, light the fuse and the tube shoots and spins all over the floor! :D
