How would you go about making a glitter cascade, Can they be made as a payload on a rocket, or just fired from a "box". I Just don't want to end up with burning paper falling ?

Can you buy these devices "for consumer" and get them shipped. I Would prefer ones with a bang rather than the co2.

All the best

Hi Bang, Welcome to the forum.

There are some expert SFX guys here who will have better answers than me, but as a starting point take a look at the Le Maitre effects - they have various glitter, streamer and confetti cartridges available:

If you are in the UK, your local stage hire company will sell you the cartridges for about £15 each and you can hire the firing equipment or make your own. You would usually use several cartridges rigged above the area where you want the confetti to fall.

When I used these as a student, the stage hire guys would always quiz me about where and for what event I was intending to use them. Other than that, I had no problem as a member of the public in buying them.

BrightStar Thanks, ill Have a look for a local stage hire company, I Just thought it would also be fun to make your own, But i don't think it would be absolutely safe to use with people, Even if i do think I'm good at pyrotechnics, though in your eyes i would be only a beginner.
Thanks once more
Bang!

Edit: Looks better without that quote.
Edit: Looks better with a space after brightstar ;P

Fun, yes, but it would also be highly irresponsible and illegal : )

If you're using close-prox indoor pyro (or any pyro where an audience will be present) you must use proper, commercial devices. To do otherwise is asking for a lawsuit.

HFM pyro stock a very good range of theatrical pyro - I'm sure they'd be happy to offer you some further advice.

I've seen the LeMaitre pyrotechnic glitter cartridges in action and they're great. They make a nice bang when they go off too : )
