Ball mill motor coupling

Hi, ive bought a Motor from rapid online, but Ive no idea how to couple my motor (100:1 gearbox 24v dc) with a steel rod that is thicker than the motor shaft.

any ideas?

The easiest ways are going to be gears or pulleys/belt - I think Rapid stock various gears.
Trying to do something very beautiful but very dangerous very safely....

Yeah but the ones on rapid are too small for my needs.
Ive found another way of doing it.

A Massive Electrical Terminal block.

hi,i dont know if this helps,but i saw (no "tele") a waterwheel shaft being connected to a reduction gearbox / generator with a small piece of rubber tubing clipped on tight , they had the same problem , and it was working a treat it was powering a house! makes sense cheap and flexible.

This is how we coupled our motor and roller shaft, we used some tough cooling hose. With plenty of pushing the tube went over both shafts, if the daimeters are different try to turn one down in size to make it fit. It works very well and has been run for well over 200 hours I should think! Make sure the two shafts are almost centered to each other, but this is not critical if the speeds are fairly low. We used Jubille clips to secure the hose to the shafts.
