Hi, The only brass that I can get my hands on, comes from b+q, however it only comes in thin bars.

If i cut the thin bars up into pieces, and put loads of them into my mill, would the effect be as good as using a few large bits of brass?

Can you please search. This questions has been discussed in great deal in the past. Search for milling media and milling jar threads. Make sure you look at threads more then 90 days old.
