A very broad question, hopefully someone can help! I guess it varies from country to country- but what are the laws regarding consumer fireworks in various countries? When are they on sale, what is available etc.

I assume it varies by country, but with the good old " shrinking borders " its maybe less of an issue? I guess the best way is just to answer country by country... eg In Holland they....
OK, interest in fireworks to be resumed in the spring. It usually is. ;)

There's a few quirks that vary from country to country but most of the time you will find the same set of product types. I recommend you take a road trip to germany and try some of the rockets there.

You'll be pleasantly suprised.

Whats the law- can they be bought/used all year round?

I am planning a road trip for exactly that reason.

I thought in Germany fireworks were sold seasonally, ie for new year only?

In Spain they have different categories but these relate to the age you have to be to buy them.
I'm not sure what the upper bore size/weight limit is but you can buy small shells over the counter.

Top tip: when purchasing Ricasa bangers in Spain, as a foreign tourist they normally limit the size to numbers three or usually four, but if you ask in Spanish you can normally tease some fives out of them. ;)

Thats kind of what I was thinking- other than here and the USA I don't know of any other country that has all year round shops selling nothing but fireworks.

I get the impression that in China they are more widely available ( although not in Hong Kong ) but sold from general shops. I might simply be wrong.
