Hi
We will be organising training sessions for our display teams for late Spring/early Summer and I would like to open the sessions up and offer places to anyone interested in becoming a professional firer.
The sessions will be held in a relaxed atmosphere and all aspects of Category 4 fireworks are covered including:
* Type of fireworks - Shells, Cakes, Candles, Mines etc
* Display site setup
* Securing fireworks/racks
* Fusing techniques
* Firing methods - hand & electrical
* Using shells safely
* Display equipment/tools
* Health & safety
There will be opportunities throughout the day to get "hands on" as you learn how to correctly set up various types of fireworks along with fusing and electrical firing.
We are still working on how to structure the cost of such a session and at this stage I am just gauging interest.
If it sounds interesting to you then drop me a line

Hi Stuart
I have been looking for a suitable course for a while now and would be very interested in joining your training session.
I have a full time job that I will not be leaving in the near future (hopefully), however if there is an opportunity to become a professional firer on evenings/weekends/soaking up spare holidays from work then I am certainly interested in seeing if it is for me.

Digger, drop me an email on the address in the original post, helps me keep track
as for firing times, well weekends & evenings pretty much sums it up, there are very few fulltime opportunities in the fireworks industry:)

Many thanks for all the enquiries regarding the training sessions.
Unfortunately the venue we had arranged to hold the event at is closing down in May and being sold
Anyone who has attended our retail demo evening will know the venue - alas this development leaves us needing to find an alternative venue for both training sessions and our demo evening...
Will be in touch with everyone who has enquired as soon as we find a suitable alternative venue
Regards

I'm signing up for a display course here in Canada. The course is 1 day and I will then be a certified apprentice. The next step is volunteering at 3 shows in 5 years to get level 1 supervisor. Then 5 shows more in 3 years for level 2 supervisor.

HI
Thanks for all the enquiries and the offers of actual locations to hold the training.
we are going through a couple of "issues" at the moment and until those are resolved I am putting this on hold, it will be revisited but
having spoken to a couple of you on the phone I thought it was right just to post on the forum let you all know
Sorry for the inconvenience
regards

I get to work at my first show this weekend, and maybe even a second one...can't wait.
