I've seen many videos and tutorials on the net about making dextrin from baking corn flour in the oven for a few hours. What I was wondering is if anyone here has ever tried creating it faster using the microwave. If not then would anyone be willing to test it out and share their results.
My suggestion would be to put it on a low wattage and keep stiring it often. I was going to try it out myself but I'm worried I'm going to stink the house out with burning corn flour. I think some of you are in a better position than me to do these tests and probably have litmus paper to test its effectiveness.
Thanks.

Hm... a microwave oven does just heat up things with water molecules in it... (except a few other experiments with plasma and stuff...)
So I guess itīll just work until all the water is driven off the dextrine, like moisture from the air and chemically bound water.
Anyway, go ahead and try it!

I've tried it, makes dextrin in just a few minutes.
Stir it often (like every 20 seconds or less).
