Ok, in 1963 bangers were 5 for a Penny. How many could you get for a Pound?

Oh- by the way- LSD is Pounds, Shillings and Pence! Old Pennies were always " D " , S is Shillings of course, I think the L was Lira? Or similar- anyway, it means pounds.

There is a Bonzo Dog Doda Bang song (I think Ali Baba's Camel ) with a lyric that goes ... " After what we all want, lots of LSD... " although of course they are playing with a double meaning, no doubt.

Isn't lira the turkish currency?
There is a very fine line between “hobby” and “mental illness.

Its probably from the Latin- Italy of course had the Lira. It was actually LiBra- the Latin equivalent of a Pound in weight.

Old money was Libra (Pounds) Solidus (Shillings) and Denarius (Pence)

Well, thats a fact!

So LSD, or rather SD.

Is it just me, or was life more interesting in the past?
