True, nobody has any intention of harming people and if I wanted to, which I dont, I would use something with a bit more 'kick' then Black Powder

While looking through our school library today for a book on chemical reactions, guess what I found and booked out?

The Chemistry of Explosives by Jacqueline Akhavan.

Its a good little book talking about the chemistry and physics of explosives. Quite a few examples you HEs but is still worth a read I think. Its ISBN is 0-85404-563-5.

I can now be arrested under the Terrorism Act.

All this talk about detentions without charge scares me to be quite frank. I would never have any intention of hurting anyone or anything, and I was unaware that such things happen.

lets face it if you are of muslim background or of dark skin yoiu will be treated very differently from a white middle class kid with a local reputation for making pyro. Whilst most police have an I.Q only marginally above zero, by and large judges have a little more sense.

I've got that book you mentioned- it was my first book related to pyro!
Also in the series is the Chemistry of Fireworks by Michael s. Russell, which is reasonably priced, and very informative on different pyro effects.

I am replying to the question asked by Stuart. My friend is a cop and he has put a man in prison for only having fuses used for detonation. The man was also fined some obscene amount of money, he said something like 5,000 American dollars although I believe he was exaggerating a little bit, for each fuse in his possession.

I suspect that you mean detonators, which would no doubt get anyone without the paperwork into a LOT of trouble. Thankfully we have no need to discuss such things in a forum about pyrotechnics :)

About 400-500 people are injuryed every year in my country. And about half off them are 5-19 years old! The age limit off buying pyrotechnics here is 18 years. My question is how the he** kids gets the fireworks? Probably there parents or older brothers are the one we suspect. Because I don?t think the shops gives rockets to a 5 year old boy! The other way a kid might get hurt are when an adult fires fireworks with alkohor in his/her blood. And how often have you (amateur pyros...) been drunk and fired rockets in crouded places with kids?!
When I fire off a single star composed off less then 1g off comp I take a walk in to the forest and light it when no one is around.

What I would like ta say:
Why shase amature pyros hiding in the bushes with charcoal fountains when there is kids getting hurt by irresponsible parents and drukn idiots frireing off fireworks.
I don?t know what I would do if I had to stop with pyro, therefor I am as carefull as I can be, and NEVER fire off enything "home-m@De" when I can hear, see or knows enyone is near. Plus I never do dangerous comps and pee my pants if I see chlorate and sulfur in the same room!
