Hey guys, you may have read some of my topics recently where I am looking to do something for a close friend of mine - a small firework show in which I may propose.

Now I am located in London and I have managed too, through some of my connections - managed to get a very large private garden in the Regents Park area.

Now I have one problem - to actually do the fireworks in this garden I have managed to secure, this is what they have told me -

" the fireworks displayed would need to be operated by a professional and we will need a risk assessment before the day. "

So now I need to find a professional with a license I am guessing and the day before a small risk assesment thing would be carried out.

I don't have a confirmed date but it will be roughly 7:30pm, in Mid October.

Now I am wondering if there is anyone here who may fit the bill. Obviously I would pay for your services.

I'm looking for a Firework display which is approx. 5 minutes - I think that is a fair/good enough time right? So obviously I need someone who is a pro. - is willing to do this for me and is pretty confident they could come up with an amazing firework display for me and my g/f...coz this is the one she will remember for life

Any thoughts?

Whoever is to do this job will need a location very accurately, a proposed date, and a target budget and description of the show.

The RA and HA and Method statements are specific to the site at the location so If anyone produces one without a proper investigation and likely site visit it's not really a sensible assessment, -how can you assess Hazard or risk without seeing the site?

Well I cant say all those things

For example budget wise - first i want to know what the given person can offer me, what ideas he had, what idea of firework display he can sell me then he would say.... ok this will cost so and so

description of the show - its just something between me and my girlfriend. me and her r the only two people there. she has no idea about it. i want to surprise her....it needs to be as good as it can be, not amazingly loud but def. something to make u go wow that one is nice

location will be regents park - i will obviously meet the person who i choose beforehand

Arthur is right,...........unfortunately in this day & age putting on a firework display in a public place (regents park) involves many logistics/legal requirements involving obtaining permission/license from the parks authorities, other public organisation may also have to notified, plus risk/health & safety assesments/methods have to be written for a specific location and time frame within the park.

I would contact `The Royal Parks` and ask them to recommend a particular area within the park that they are happy to put aside for firework display reasons, and then you perhaps you could make a provisional booking for a specific date with the royal parks authority...........then you could contact various firework companies and then take it from there!

During opening hours the Royal Park is a public open space therefore one cannot have fireworks there. If your location is a private garden near the park then this is a private place and we can start to liase with the site owner to have a display there. The START of the risk assessment is the site plan. This is the way that the hazards are found and the risks mitigated.

I can get a display to your budget from a company I fire for that will be safe to use in your chosen location, once I know the location, have the site plan and have done an initial RA. No site visit and no initial RA and I would be foolhardy to fire a show, and so would anyone else!

I maybe speaking out of turn, but ,...........Regents Park comes under `The Royal Parks` which is part of the `Department for Culture, Media, Sport`.

The Royal Parks website has a business section, which allows event organisers and the like to hold events in the park in return for a fee/license.

I know the park is a public place which opens at 5am, and that they close at dusk (no specific time or when it gets dark), but I can`t see a problem with displaying fireworks anyway (daytime displays for instance when the park is open), if he gets permission to enter the park at night as a business agreement between himself and the parks authority, then there should be no problem (but its likely to cost him a few quid given staff have to hired out of hours).

Please correct me if im wrong!

The idea of a garden firework display backing onto the park is something I too was thinking about as a option for him (given the budget in question).

Which is near Regents Park. They have a large garden and my sisters boyfriend works there so I have managed to get that as my chosen location for the firework show and they have given me the garden to use for private use.

That is a lovely venue!

I'll happily do a site visit and do the RA and MS and do you an insured cat 2 or 3 show (from a final measuring of the garden)

October is filling up already, and the location will have bookings too so let's plan carefully!

To assist in obtaining any meaningful information on what a company can offer you really need to provide them with budgetary information (even if it's a ballpark figure)

It really does help the company know the scale/type of fireworks etc to start discussing with the client
