Has anyone ever had the tnt rocket pack called STARBURST ROCKET PACK, there the ones that you usually get in asda, and are like 3.50 a pack, if so how good were they, and are they worth buying.
regards

Put a little more bluntly, it is unlikley that anything from a supermarket will really be good value for money. If it is cheap, expect it to be very limited in performance.

I was at a local store (all year specialist place) and was told that a rocket pack(Mach Two), priced at £25 for 18, made by Festival (Sovereign) is Flash. Its not old stock either. It came highly recommended

Devco also do a barrage by the name of Thunder Paradise, £25 for 19 shots, which is also flash and a current product. It is supposedly extremely loud. Again, highly recommended.
I was advised that quite a few of the newer regulation Rockets (priced at much more than the Mach Two pack) will disappoint in comparison.
All of this advice came from a guy that had recently fired a sample of all his products and seen them all first hand.

To be honest that sounds a touch pricey- is £25 the RRP, or the price-you-pay?

Midas gold medal are a better deal from Lidl. Was £4.99 for 4 last year I think.
That was for 4 rockets vs the £3.50 for 5 on TNT starburst/boosterjets so about twice the price per shot. That said given the size of the payload you are getting much more than twice the value from them. The Gold medal are good value if they have them this year - certainly I would have a few if they are there.
Another good cheap rocket is the Rio rocket pack from Aldi - I think it was £19.99 for 18 rockets last year - although there are 3 different size rockets they all have a 1.5" shell inside them, not just loose stars. Very effective when volley fired, which I tend to do with almost all rockets now.

It is something to be aware of "across the board" this year. A good firework shop should be able to tell you if an effect has changed, but with a supermarket- pot luck.

Alas with the changes in the regulations you wont be getting the same (1.5inch shell) rockets from supermarkets this year. Supermarkets don't stock fireworks (or store it) all year around, they get fresh stock each year and as such will get THIS years rockets which will almost definately be new reg compliant.
The best chance of getting some "old regs" rockets is to hunt out a year round supplier who may have some of the older regs stock:)

David, It is both the RRP and the price it is labelled up at the shop. My apologies, it is 18 shot twin bursts. <embarassed smiley>

Yes, I was merely quoting what was available last year - who knows what they will have this year, there is no advertising out yet. Some of the supermarket stuff such as Aldi and Lidl is pretty good VFM to fill out parts of the display from all year suppliers. I usually use some of this in the mid section of my displays - be interesting to see what they actually have this year.
I already have some larger rockets but that may not help others who are solely supermarket buyers. Certainly there is still a lot of old reg stock out there if you shop around a little. Plus I know at least one seasonal shop that said they would be having the larger rockets this year - waiting to see if that is actually the case though.

My local 52 week store has some ball head rockets but at £15 each! You probably could make them in England cheaper.
Keep mannequins and watermelons away from fireworks..they always get hurt..

Thats actually a typical RRP for a ballhead. I have Millenium's 2004 Catalogue here, and their 3 inch ballhead was £14.99.
Rocket prices have shot up (boom boom*) a lot this year with the majority being 1.3G. Sky Thriller- which looks very nice- has a RRP of £30- and the King, a very very popular rocket indeed, has a RRP of £40

Well it looks like they are back this year - obviously I don't know if they are the same inside as previous years but from the ad the packaging is the same and the price is the same. In fact Lidl have got exactly the same items at the sam prices as they have for the last couple of years. I'll be down on the 16th and have a looks see and get a couple of packs as they are/were good VFM.Midas gold medal are a better deal from Lidl. Was £4.99 for 4 last year I think.

Looks like Lidl are selling the same 7 lines they had last year. That really is rather dull, I have to say.
