Just an update on what I bought this year. I went to Asda and paid 20 for a pack and a set of rockets, they were on a two for one deal.
Pathetic wasn't the word for it. Made in China so the packer was on a dollar a day, but colourful fancy wrapping, I would have had a larger bang if I threw a light match into a box of matches. What a load of tripe, the biggest bang will be when I re-visit the store tonight to voice my complaints and attempt a refund.
The roman candle items were absolutely dreadful with sparkling items popping out just a few inches, at times I thought they were an indoor set.
Any recommendations tag them on so next year is better. Before someone says only 20, we are talking about a bit ofpowder encased in cardboard, so 20 should get you a reasonable bang for yer buck.

several threads on this forum should have forewarned you that supermarket fireworks are generally poor to say the least , your far better off visiting your local all year round seller/shop who only sell fireworks and not tins of beans and dog food for 50 weeks of the year , there are the odd seasonal shop thats worth visiting but these are general run by people who know their gear and only sell quality items
though having said that 20 dont buy you a great deal of good pyro to be honest

I just copied this from another forum. I didn't buy my fireworks from Asda!
