I need to know what the term "Radius of Gyration" means in respect to rocket components. Thanks.

Hi,

I should imagine in terms of a rocket that the radius of gyration is the movement of the rocket around a point e.g centre of gravity. Consider the shape of a sand egg timer as a comparison.

I could be wrong but this seems to make the most sense :)

Radius of gyration in engineering terms is to do with how easy it is to buckle compression members. Which may or may not have to do with rockets. I know this post is a bit outdated, but i'm catching up and thought i'd add this.

I would think 'spin stabilization' ? Or how much it wobbles. Or both. Or neither. I feel very confident about this.
