I'd like to welcome Mark & Firework Crazy as our first advertising partner. We're looking forward to working together to provide UKPS members with a discount scheme in the near future. The company will also be featuring in our forthcoming firework suppliers section.

I'm sure Mark will be along in due course to tell you all about Firework Crazy!

Hi All,

Some of you will know me and some of you don't. I'm Mark the owner of Firework Crazy.

We're not just a company that sells fireworks, we're a company that LOVES fireworks. Firework Crazy was born from a love of fireworks after getting frustrated with visiting outlets that knew nothing about their fireworks and visiting websites which had little or no information on the fireworks you where buying.

Firework Crazy was born in the summer of 2006 so we're a relatively young company. Our first seasons saw us supplying from a concession in a local garden centre, in our second year www.fireworkcrazy.com was born where the emphasis was on giving visitors clear information on the fireworks and also having good quality video of the fireworks so you could really see what you where buying, something which hadn't been done before. After our second year we had out grown the garden centre.

In the spring of 2008 the opportunity arose to take on a 900 sq ft unit in the centre of Chelmsford. It was perfect for what we needed. Over the summer we busily converted the shell into a showroom, office, storeroom and warehouse, you can see pictures of the showroom on the website http://www.fireworks...ks_showroom.asp

Our emphasis is still on giving customers a service which is second to none and all the information they need to make the best choices when it come to their fireworks. We often get customers in the shop or emails thanking us for the service they've received, often saying that it's hard to come by these days.

We continue to grow and expand the company but still hold strong our core principles.

SO. That's what Firework Crazy is all about.

I met Richard a few years ago on a Visit to the Royal Gunpowder Mills and showed an interest in sponsorship of the website, which im sure you will agree is a great resource for you guys.

So we are pleased that we are now the first site sponsor.

As well as sponsorship of the UKPS we're pleased to be able to offer members discounts on the fireworks we sell of up to 60%

Discounts will depend on the product. To qualify for these discounts you will have to register on the Firework Crazy website. http://www.fireworks...ustregister.asp

Once you've registered you will need to PM me here with the email address you registered with, once verified I can then enable the discount prices, so the next time you log in you will see the new prices.

If you want to come to the shop to buy, then just bring your UKPS membership card with you.

Richard will shortly be creating a new member group here so that paid UKPS members will be easily identifyable.

If you have any questions, then please email or pm me.

Good stuff, hope that this scheme is a useful one for both consumers and retailers in the future!

I see it as a two way street. We're keen to get reputable retailers involved. At the end of the day, such partnerships generate valuable revenue for the society, and we are very keen for all our advertisers to put something back in and join the community spirit that I feel exists here without a doubt. We are pressing ahead with plans for a discount scheme, and so far everyone we speak to seems keen on the idea.

We are constantly looking to add value and benefits to being a member of the society - and this is one area I think that will be popular.

I should say I am keen to avoid a tidal surge of adverts appearing everywhere, and Mark to his credit has asked that he display a static / non-animated banner in his signature. I have setup a dedicated forum for suppliers to post their news and offers, to avoid slapdash posts appearing everywhere.

When someone is passionate about their business, I am keen for us as an organisation to build partnerships. We are about to launch a retailers section aimed at the membership and also the general public firework buyer. We believe it is important to distinguish reputable suppliers from the rogue / fringe elements.

Just my two pence.

Thank you Richard, you have allayed any fears of commercial pop ups and 10 second advertisment clips between forum changes

Yes, good points, and I would also add that I feel that it's better if advertisers are also active participants on the forum, rather than JUST coming here to post their adverts.

If shopkeepers are using this site, and are in a position to respond to feedback about their business- both positive and constructivly negative- then it's an advantage for all concerned.

For example, if you are trying a new brand, members who buy it from you could perhaps provide honest feedback on the forums about the success and limitations of the brand.
