Anyone interested in TNT? Doesn't seem to be a popular brand at the moment- I know prices went up a lot last year, and quality / window dressing was somewhat of an issue.

They took over Millenium in 2004.

But does anyone know their plans for this year? Anyone thinking of stocking it etc?

They do have a small shop in Preston, left empty 48 weeks a year, but I've not been greatly impressed with it. Seems to sell an odd mix of old Millenium stock (or at least it did circa 2007) and SOME of the TNT range- This is their official shop, and they are not carrying the full range- if not them, then who else will?

The sad thing is that they have pretty much phased out the older millenium lines.

But Millenium circa 2003 and 2004 were pretty good- some good single effect pieces in their range, for example. Don't see that much anymore, with the domination of mixed effects.

TNT's policy last year seemed to be "Crackle with everything."

I think A**A sell them , but typical supermarket "range"- Just one item, but they try to sell you two of them by writing the price for 2 in big letters.

OK, interest in fireworks to be resumed in the spring. It usually is. ;)

Asda, they have had them for a few years (Wal Mart links I think.) Last year they were selling stock that was imported from the USA (originally Chinese, of course.) It still had price labels on in Dollars!

Morrison's and Lidl were both stockists of brands from the Cosmic group. To be honest, a change can't be bad- their policy seemed to be to stock the same range every year.

However, Aldi is a bit of a shock- they are German, and used to sell the German Weco brand.

I am very surprised that Aldi have dropped Weco as their firework supplier.I have always liked this brand and German fireworks in general and will be very disappointed if i can no longer buy them as this was the only supplier left selling them.Getting back to T.N.T. There is a garden centre near me that sells a large selection from this range and last year they were all half-price and the ones i purchased were all very good with some excellent effects. They buy huge quantities from several firms and always discount heavily to the public and i have been a regular customer for years,in fact i get most of my fireworks from them as the prices are so good.I find the medium to large cakes are the best value in the T.N.T. Range as they have a good range of different effects but the really large ones tend to be a bit samey and not such good value.Their rockets tend to be a bit average also with no large pieces now only packs.I sent for a catalogue ages ago and still have not recieved it,i don't know why? They also have a shop in Salisbury but this is only open in October for three weeks and only stocks part of the range.

Ditto about 2 years ago so don't hold your breath. They seem to have a website that is never really up to date - it is showing the next UK celebration as New Year and the UK shops as open (which they aren't)

They also have a shop in Salisbury but this is only open in October for three weeks and only stocks part of the range.

I use them for some of my buys and some of the managers specials are very good buys as it is a chance to get some old Millenium stock occasionally - also the amount of discount on them is very good. the main range is small and unless you get there when they are running the 25% off discounts is full retail and not very good value. The large items are massively overpackaged and overpriced, small / medium stuff not so bad + they have videos of most of the stock.

As David said - most items now contain crackles + no more big rockets - the shell heads were pretty good but alas no more. One medium item they did was the Free Fall - I used that 2 years ago dicounted to £15 for 25 shots very good value - last year I intended to use them again - price up to £35 so didn't buy (I had intended to use 2 of them for my finale) the price hike was just taking the mick - lots of other prices were up significantly too and I didn't bother with any of the full priced items.

This has probably past now, although if any of the old Milleniums tuff does pop up, it's worth checking out.

They certainly had some last year in the manager's specials - it appears to be stuff that they find as they clear out the stores, they never have it as part of the main product line. I'm hoping that they will have found a bit more for this year. Also some old Big Chief brand fireworks keep turning up - they are a highly variable brand some really good such as "Bright eyes in dark skys" (TNT haven't got any of these apparently - but I live in hope that they will discover some more) and some are average to poor.

Fingers crossed :D
