ahh! thanx guys for the info i didnt know you could still get such things, thats the beauty of this forum you can draw from everybody's vast knowledge of pyro, be it on construction detail or whats commercially available in the shop's today!

Again, round here no "silly season" bangs at all- this in mnay ways is a positive thing.

I suppose so but theres nothing wrong with a few going off the couple of days before the 5th but theres 2 weekends around it so maybe thats why it's quiet.

I hope theres lots going off on Thursday!

Personally, I do agree with that- but the lack of bangs can be turned into a positive, as it means less people wo dislike fireworks will complain about early use.

Ok, tonight it's really started to hit home and it's getting me down, theres an alarming silence around this area of Preston and on the skyline. Ok maybe weather is a factor but it's not rained since about 6pm and the weather outside now is perfect fireworks weather.

I love seeing stuff going up in the run up to November 5th, it helps you get in the mood for your display but there is nothing at all going up round here apart from a few pops on the skyline tonight.

Either less people are buying fireworks or they are all saving their stuff for Thursday night or the weekend.

I know my area is one of the best I've seen for fireworks going off in a town, there is usually loads going off around Bonfire Night and then mental on the night itself but it's sooooo quiet out there!!

As has already been said - it puts the do gooders back in their boxes and hopefully puts any poo poo politicians off the scent.
I remember back in da good old days everyone saved their stash until the 5th. Maybe a return to those times aint such a bad idea

I've heard a professional show with big shells somewhere towards central London, but other than that barely a crackle round here. (And that would have been nice if the cake had gone all the way

The only fireworks I've heard in my parts are the couple of testers I've put airbourne - apart from
that, there's been NOTHING at all...Have booked my place at the prime window for Thursday though...

Roll on Saturday when all my Pyro is being launched !!

Just been reading back on a few topics from last year and it seems I was saying exactly the same thing as my last post here, but it turned out ok round here last year so maybe things wont be so bad afterall.

Hopefully things will get better tonight with stuff going off and then really kick off tommorow night and that the weather is good.

Not had chance to check or heard from anyone else about how the seasonals in Preston are doing, I'm sure I'll find out soon.

No were near as busy as previous years round here last night, plenty going off, the best being a house on the street by ours letting off some rockets with a decent boom and effects. Other than that it was all pop and fizz cakes and rockets with poor effects.

We started at half 7 and were almost done for half 9 but we fired a couple of things around 9.45. It had gone dead really after 9.

We enjoyed ourselves and had a good night. The weather luckily about 5 minutes of spitting rain, other than that, clear skies no wind. Gutted to hear about people having bad weather for their display.

I was told quite a few houses on the street went off to the local Rugby Club display, all people who used to have their own at home.

Oh well we rocked the neighbourhood again and quite a few people were out of their houses to watch when the big stuff was going off.

ditto, from the prime loft window ive got a view of the whole of bolton, some pretty loud stuff going off here and plenty on the horizon too!

i've just been treated to a fantastic cat 4 display, roughly about 3 miles away if the "sound travels a mile every 5 seconds" .. i counted 17 seconds between seeing them and hearing them.

some very nice angel hair style shells and lots of other nice effects too, finished with a couple of big willows with crackles in the middle? only way to describe it.

you can certainly tell the difference between cat 4 & consumer stuff, before i saw the actual fireworks it sounded like a thunder storm was on the way!

Had a moderate amount of stuff going off Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If you put it all together, not too bad.

Sad to see not so many people doing it on the proper day though.
