when I buy iron powder from my supplier it comes new from their manufacturer and is already blackened from the manufacturing process. I doubt it is available any other way?

There is electrolytic which is without rust and some other processes, but I can only find bulk suppliers and I want some for experiments, it is out there.

A former employer used to sinter commercially and their iron powders were black.
