I don't know of anywhere that sells dowel of that diameter.

If it's for a former, try seeing what cylanders there are around the house. For example, drinks cans are about 2.5" dia.

1] You get a log
2] You get a lathe and turn a former yourself

or

3] You find someone nice to do it. No place sells 'dowels' like that

and

4] - This is not an option - Sort out your posting attitude, because you dont want to know what 5] is!

Ok, it is for my 2" ball shell and is for the mortar. I did find a pyrotechnics company that sold pyro tubes, well they are a packaging place and they sell pyro mortar tubes but I do not know if they would let me buy from them. Do you know were you can by 2/8" dia dowels ?.

If you are looking for large diameter formers have a search around the water pipes in your local diy shop. Standard waste pipes are 32mm and 40mm - other sizes available from more specialist suppliers.

Don't use them as morters as they are made of PVC and can splinter into sharp pieces. If you can get HDPE pipe that's perfect for morters but it's a bit harder to track down.

Even worse, PVC shrapnel don't show up on x-ray, so if you do get splinters...
